Todd Warner has amassed a very large collection of vintage powerboats and raceboats over the last three decades, in the form of the quasi-dealership and restoration shop Mahogany Bay. Now this collection is being sold, over 100 boats in all including some that are very significant. Well represented are Riva, Chris Craft, Hacker, Ditchburn, Dodge, and Gar-Wood. Highlights for me include “Mer-Na,” a 1930 Blanchard Boat Co cruiser, and “So-Long,” a 30’ launch from 1918 built by Leyare on the St. Lawrence River. All of these boats will be going at no-reserve. There will likely be many deals, and the event will probably set prices for many of these boats for years to come. A story to watch.
