A journal of boating history and boats in contemporary culture, from the Curator of Watercraft

The treasure room in the back of Marine Supply & Hardware Co. in Anacortes, WA. Never enough time. This store is a favorite, for old tools, hard-to-find boat parts, old clothes, and other beautiful ephemera. Treasures spotted this time include NOS cans of alkyd-based marine paint, which no-one makes anymore (except this guy) and many sizes of old grease cups for antique machinery. Good stuff!

I was up in Anacortes yesterday to document a little flat-bottom skiff at the Maritime Heritage Center down by the W.T. Preston snagboat. More about that later.
