Dezeen: The Firmship, a collaboration between the designers at Studio Job and naval architect Willem Nieland. A practical 42’ cruising boat, detailed by a top-notch design company. This is an encouraging sign.
I think we will see more vessels like this in the near future: cruisers for 2-4 that are very comfortable, carefully designed but not ostentatious, and that are not concerned with power. The Firmship tops out at 10 knots with a Perkins diesel, I bet its very efficient, and it has got to be one of the smaller vessels that comes stock with an autopilot. Its about the voyage.
